If you haven’t been paying attention now is the time. AB 1139 (a bill supported by the investor-owned utilities) is currently making its way through the legislature of the state of California. If passed and signed into law, among other things, it would mandate a $50-$90 monthly grid access charge for any and all solar systems, slashes export credits down to 3 cents per kilowatt (an almost 80% reduction in value), and would make changes retroactively, impacting the vast majority of NEM 1 and NEM 2 customers.
Take the time, gather the information and you will see that this bill will have major consequences on the solar industries bottom line. Call your local and state representative’s and let them know where you stand on AB 1139.
